Early morning pedestrian crash on Tom Born Road leaves 1 dead

A fatal pedestrian collision on Tom Born Road in Habersham County, Georgia, happened early Saturday, with the Georgia State Patrol investigating. The crash occurred just off Ga. 15 in the Hollywood community, after dispatchers received a 911 call from the driver. Troopers said the driver struck an object in the roadway and realized it was a person. Deputies from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and emergency personnel arrived at 12:49 a.m. Responders found a deceased individual at the scene and alerted the Habersham County Coroner’s Office. The identity of the victim has not been released. The incident followed a separate Friday crash on Talmadge Drive.
