Erik Jones Re-Signs NASCAR Cup Series Deal With Legacy Motor Club

Erik Jones has re-signed with Legacy Motor Club to drive the No. 43 Toyota in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2027 and beyond, according to LMC co-owner and seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson. Jones has been in the No. 43 seat since the 2022 season, when the team operated as Petty GMS Motorsports, and continued after the organization rebranded to Legacy Motor Club in 2023. The move is framed as part of LMC’s stability ahead of a major driver shakeup for 2027: Josh Berry is set to join to pilot the No. 42 Toyota, replacing John Hunter Nemechek, and Riley Herbst will race the No. 84 Toyota full-time as LMC expands to a three-car operation.
