EZO has secured a £176 million contract to install and manage electric vehicle charging infrastructure across four Midlands councils over 15 years. The rollout will deploy 250 new chargers across Leicestershire, Rutland, Worcestershire and Warwickshire, aiming to serve around two million residents and expand access for businesses and communities. Funding comes from the UK government, with councils not required to provide direct capital investment for the rollout. The project is delivered through the Fourth Midlands EV Infrastructure Consortium (FMeviC), with Midlands Connect as a partner. EZO currently operates more than 400 chargers and is developing a further 1,000 sites, bringing its UK portfolio to about £476 million.

Ollie Chatten, CEO of EZO, called the Midlands deal a milestone that demonstrates the trust local authorities place in the company to deliver EV charging at scale. He noted the rollout will transform charging in the Midlands and accelerate the shift to clean transport. EZO's strategy centers on building an infrastructure backbone for the next generation of mobility across communities. The company is backed by Rubicon Capital Advisors, which advised on an Aviva Investors investment in 2023.
