Fairfield County fiery crash and Columbus motorcycle crash turn deadly
Two central Ohio crashes left fatalities on Sept. 6, according to reports from local authorities. In Fairfield County, a fiery crash killed a 23-year-old and left another person injured. A Columbus driver traveling eastbound on U.S. 33 at about 6:15 p.m. drove into oncoming traffic while attempting to overcorrect after swerving right. The car—a 2016 GMC Terrain driven by 33-year-old Alvaro Uriber—flipped into the westbound lanes near U.S. 22 in Hocking Township and struck a 2025 Chevrolet Trax, and both vehicles caught fire. The Trax driver, 23-year-old Cameron M. Lyon, died after being transported. A passenger, 23-year-old Abrielle Kerns of Lancaster, survived with non-critical injuries; Uriber’s condition wasn’t released. Investigations continue.
