Ferrari and Peugeot begin work on updated hypercars for 2027 WEC

Ferrari and Peugeot have started testing updates aimed at the 2027 World Endurance Championship. Ferrari released an image of a development version of its 499P with camouflage, pictured testing at Monza. The 2027 campaign is scheduled to start in Qatar on 27 March 2027, and Monza will host this year’s season finale after Qatar and Bahrain were cancelled due to conflict in the Middle East. Ferrari is preparing the biggest 499P overhaul since the V6-powered LMH debuted in 2023, potentially using all four remaining “evo jokers.” Peugeot, meanwhile, announced it is working on the next 9X8 update, focused on performance, efficiency and competitiveness of its V6 Hypercar.
