Ferrari marketing chief quits days after the automaker's first EV was mocked online
Ferrari is reshuffling its leadership days after its first fully electric vehicle drew online mockery. Longtime marketing and commercial executive Enrico Galliera is leaving the company shortly after the debut of the €550,000 Luce, according to Euronews. He will be replaced by Massimiliano Di Silvestre, previously head of BMW operations in Italy, who will report directly to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. The transition follows criticism of the Luce’s design, created with LoveFrom, the firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, with the car’s smooth, edgeless appearance diverging from Ferrari’s typical styling. Euronews reported Ferrari shares fell more than 8% in a single session. Although Ferrari says interest remains strong, the report noted doubts over marketing an electric Ferrari as performance-focused EV demand cools and the model faces heightened scrutiny. Former chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo warned the car threatened the brand’s legacy, while Italy’s deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini questioned the four-door starting price.
