FIA in talks with Red Bull leadership over ADUO outcome at Silverstone'
The FIA will reportedly meet with Red Bull Racing at Silverstone this weekend to provide extensive clarification on the ADUO assessment outcome. According to De Telegraaf, a second review has not changed the earlier conclusions, despite a request from Max Verstappen’s team to reassess the measurements. During the current Formula 1 weekend, FIA officials are said to explain how the assessment was conducted and how new measurements requested by Red Bull were carried out. The ADUO system will be used in 2026 to determine which engine manufacturers receive additional development opportunities, assessing only the internal combustion engine while excluding the electric parts of the power unit. After initial measurements, the FIA concluded Red Bull has the strongest combustion engine, meaning Red Bull cannot implement extra engine upgrades, while competitors including Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda, and Audi do have that flexibility. Red Bull’s sporting chief Oliver Mintzlaff and co-owner Mark Mateschitz are expected to attend, with additional meetings planned next week involving team boss Laurent Mekies. The discussion is also tied to broader paddock debate about potential disadvantages if the best ranking blocks extra development.
