Fiat's £8,995 Topolino EV now on sale - but it costs £1,300 more than Citroën Ami sibling

Fiat’s £8,995 Topolino EV is now available to order in the UK, but the small electric vehicle costs more than its Citroën Ami sibling. Fiat says the Topolino starts at £8,995 on the road and is classified as a quadricycle rather than a full car, which brings limits on weight, power, and speed. The company notes it shares platform, battery, motor, and basic dimensions with the Ami while using a retro-inspired body referencing the 1936–1955 original Fiat 500 Topolino. Power comes from a 6kW electric motor with a 5.5kWh battery, offering a top speed of 28 mph and up to 46 miles of claimed range. The Citroën Ami begins at £7,695. The Topolino has a single-speed transmission and three controls for Drive, Neutral, and Reverse.
