Fiat's New $13,995 Car Ditches Doors for Ropes -- and It's Named After a Mouse
Fiat’s new $13,995 Topolino microcar ditches traditional doors and instead offers rope coverings, targeting low-speed community driving rather than highway use. Introduced as an all-electric Low-Speed Vehicle, it seats two, is available only in Verde Vita Mint, and is designed for roads with posted limits of 35 mph or less. Fiat positions it for public parks, beach towns, downtown areas, resorts, gated communities, film festivals, and yacht clubs. With a curb weight of 1,073 pounds and a 5.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, it supports about a 5-hour recharge and up to 46 miles of range. It tops out at 19 mph, rising to 25 mph after a fall 2026 street-legal conversion kit. The kit will add a rearview mirror, backup camera, and pedestrian alert system at no extra charge.
