Ford files 3 new recalls impacting 159,000 vehicles, including Mustang

Ford Motor Co. filed three new recalls with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the largest covering 148,663 vehicles that may have faulty wiring affecting headlights and the windshield-washing system, reducing visibility while driving. The other two recalls total 10,024 vehicles tied to improperly tightened joints and improperly installed engine piston domes. All three come as CEO Jim Farley pushes Ford to improve quality; Ford has led the industry in recalls for five straight years and is again first this year with 67 recalls so far, ahead of Chrysler (Stellantis) with 30 and General Motors with 22. Affected models include certain 2024–2026 Mustang, 2026 Explorer, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Mustang, and Ranger, and 2026 Maverick and F-150.
