Ford recalling 2,276 popular trucks, dozens of reports filed for improperly secured seats
xCruzo Brief
Ford is recalling 2,276 2025–2027 F-150 trucks because the front seats may not have been properly installed. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says the issue stems from a team leader failing to “properly confirm the completion of necessary repairs” during production, which allowed seats to be improperly secured. An unsecured seat may have reduced stability, potentially degrading occupant restraint performance in a crash and increasing injury risk. As of July 9, 2026, Ford had 56 warranty and 16 field reports, but no injuries or crashes linked to the problem. Dealers will inspect and tighten or replace seat bolts at no cost. Owner letters begin Oct. 26.
