Ford Recalls 11,000 Pickup Trucks Over Faulty Rearview Display Screens

Ford is recalling 11,405 2026 Ranger pickup trucks because the central display can lose power and the rearview camera image may disappear. The problem, Ford says in an NHTSA notice, is linked to “potentially counterfeit parts” used in screens manufactured by a Chinese supplier. Ford identified cracked capacitors on the circuit boards during internal review. The recall is tied to rear-visibility compliance requirements, and NHTSA warns the issue could raise crash risk. Owners will receive notification letters by Oct. 5, but a remedy is still “under development.” Ford reports no known accidents or injuries, though it has 15 warranty claims potentially related.
