Ford recalls more than 110,000 Mustang vehicles over windshield wiper and drivetrain defects after federal regulators flagged issues that could raise crash risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says Ford is recalling 110,626 vehicles in two separate campaigns covering certain Mustang, Mustang GTD and Mustang Mach-E models. The larger action involves 67,842 Mustang and Mustang GTD vehicles, where under certain cold-weather conditions the windshield wipers may operate only on the high setting and the windshield washer system may not work correctly, reducing visibility. A second recall targets 42,784 Mustang Mach-E vehicles due to a rear differential pinion shaft that may fracture, potentially leading to loss of drive power or unintended movement if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake. Dealers will repair or replace the affected parts free of charge.
