Ford recalls more than 40,000 trucks and SUVs over visibility risk
xCruzo Brief
Ford is recalling 41,748 vehicles due to a headlight defect that could reduce the driver’s visibility, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The affected lineup includes the 2025–2027 Ford Expedition and the 2026 Ford F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, and F-550 SD. NHTSA says contaminated LED chips inside the headlight assemblies may cause a loss of daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams, or low beams. That exterior lighting reduction could also make the vehicle harder for others to see, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and replace headlight assemblies at no cost, with owner letters expected Oct. 26.
