George's Academy students race cars they built for competition
xCruzo Brief
Students from St George’s Academy in Ruskington, Lincolnshire, will compete at the Greenpower Challenge International Finals at Goodwood Motor Circuit in Sussex on Sunday 18 October. More than 100 school teams from across Europe will race single-seater electric cars they designed and built, aiming to travel the furthest distance and complete the most laps. The school’s team includes 14 students, with 10 traveling to the finals and two cars competing, one built from scratch. Max, 12, said it took two years to build the vehicles for the F24 International Final 2026 (Ages 11–16) category. Teacher Thomas Mitchell and sponsors including Ford and Siemens support the STEM project.
