Google Cloud, RemotiveLabs Partner To Speed Virtual Vehicle Development
xCruzo Brief
RemotiveLabs, a Swedish technology company, is partnering with Google Cloud to accelerate vehicle development by moving more design and testing into the virtual world. The collaboration combines RemotiveTopology, a visualization platform, with Google Cloud’s Horizon, an open-source software development platform. Together, teams can create and test full virtual vehicles—digital twins—in the cloud, expanding beyond Android to integrate and verify entire vehicle systems. Arm is supplying the compute foundation via virtual platforms and a system on a chip. Google and RemotiveLabs cite potential benefits including about 40% lower feature development costs, higher test coverage, and software testing up to 9x faster in virtual environments.
