Hamilton aiming for more F1 wins | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
The Formula 1 title race is intensifying as it pits Lewis Hamilton’s experience against Kimi Antonelli’s youth ahead of this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix. Hamilton, 41, became F1’s oldest race winner since 1970, and an eighth world title would make him the oldest champion since 1957. Antonelli, 19, leads the standings and is on track to become the youngest champion ever. During Friday practice, Antonelli was fastest in both sessions, beating George Russell by 0.04 seconds in a Mercedes one-two, while the second session left him ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris by 0.237 and 0.325. Hamilton finished fifth in both. The day also included issues for Cadillac, with Sergio Perez stopping twice and Valtteri Bottas reporting a small fire.
