Honda recalls 325,000 Odyssey minivans over backup camera failure
Honda is recalling 325,588 Odyssey minivans in the United States after federal safety regulators warned of a backup camera defect that can increase crash risk. The issue involves moisture intrusion into the camera unit, which may cause the rearview display to go dark while the vehicle is backing up. The recall covers certain 2018–2020 model-year Odysseys. Owners will be able to visit a Honda dealership for a free camera replacement. The action is the second rearview camera recall Honda has issued in recent months for the same underlying defect. Separately, Honda recalled nearly 60,000 Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric SUVs in May over a camera housing problem tied to adhesive bonding failure and image issues such as blurring or blank display. Regulators require functional rearview cameras on all U.S.-sold vehicles.
