Honda recalls over 325,000 vehicles in a safety action tied to rearview camera performance. The recall involves approximately 325,588 units of the 2018–2020 Honda Odyssey, according to a notice posted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under NHTSA ID 26V42300. The issue is that water may enter the rearview camera housing, which can cause the camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse and may increase the risk of a crash, per the NHTSA. This recall expands a prior 2020 recall, listed by NHTSA as 20V438, which covered certain 2019–2020 Odyssey vehicles. Owners will be able to replace the rearview camera at Honda dealers free of charge. NHTSA says letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 24, and owners can also check eligibility using a VIN on NHTSA.gov.
