Honda's New Electric Motorcycle Is Ready To Take On Harley-Davidson
Honda’s new full-size electric motorcycle, the WN7, marks the company’s biggest step yet into battery-powered performance bikes and directly targets the premium EV segment. Honda says the production-built WN7 uses an entirely new electric platform and follows its “Be the Wind” philosophy, while debuting a new Honda logo for future electric motorcycles. The WN7 pairs a liquid-cooled electric motor with a fixed 9.3-kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 67 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. Honda estimates more than 87 miles combined city/highway range under the WMTC cycle. Charging is supported via CCS2 DC fast-charging, enabling 20 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes, with AC home charging also available. Built around a frameless chassis that uses the battery as a structural element, it targets an approximately 478-pound curb weight. It competes with models such as the Harley-Davidson LiveWire One in Europe, where Honda plans to offer competitive pricing.
