Ford logged 63 recalls so far in 2026, compared with GM’s 19, yet the IQS places emphasis on problems owners report during the first 90 days of ownership. J.D. Power notes the study tracks problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), not later recall outcomes. Nearly half of Ford’s recalls involve 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles, often tied to recently launched products. GM’s overall showing stayed solid, with Chevy and Buick above industry average, while GMC was slightly below.
