Hyundai Motor brings its Atlas humanoid robot to the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the first-ever live match environment integration, turning robotics into an on-pitch halftime spectacle. The company, working as the tournament’s Official Robotics Partner, integrated Boston Dynamics’ Atlas during the Round of 16 match at New York/New Jersey Stadium on July 5, 2026. Hyundai says the activation delivered the first robotics-powered halftime moment for a global audience, and marked two milestones: the first public demonstration of production-version Atlas real-world movement capabilities introduced earlier at CES 2026 and the first humanoid robot integration into a World Cup live match setting. The rollout was tied to Hyundai’s “Next Starts Now” campaign launched at the 2026 New York International Auto Show. The move strengthens Hyundai’s robotics positioning alongside Boston Dynamics.
