xCruzo Brief
An ICE agent shot a 28-year-old driver in New York City’s Marble Hill neighborhood on October 8 while a 5-year-old boy was in the back seat, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. The man, Oscar Bergal, was shot in the neck below his left ear and reached New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital in stable condition. Police said they received 911 calls at 4:04 p.m. reporting a person shot and gunfire. Tisch said federal officers used two vehicles to block Bergal, who allegedly refused orders and drove toward other officers. Federal officials later said they didn’t know a child was in the car. Investigators found at least seven shell casings and damage to the Honda CR-V’s windshield and rear window.
