IndyCar Milwaukee Was Absolutely INSANE: O'Ward Sweeps, Palou Clinches and Chaos Reigns

Pato O’Ward delivered a chaotic, rain-affected doubleheader weekend at the Milwaukee Mile, taking two victories in one day. His sweep made him the first driver to win two races on the same day since Rick Mears in 1981. Arrow McLaren also secured a double podium in the second race, with Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) and Christian Lundgaard completing the top three. Lundgaard notched his first career oval-track podium. The weekend’s continuation race carried major championship stakes: after Alex Palou beat Kyle Kirkwood in the first race, Palou needed to finish ahead of him, and did so by placing 10th to Kirkwood’s 15th. Palou clinched his fifth IndyCar championship. With the title settled, IndyCar concludes at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, with the green flag at 2:30 p.m. EST on Sept. 6, live on FOX.
