Injured dirt bike rider airlifted to hospital after rescue in Colorado's Rampart Range area

Colorado search and rescue teams airlifted an injured dirt bike rider to the hospital after locating them on a trail in the Rampart Range area on Saturday evening. Douglas County Search and Rescue said it was called after the rider was hurt on Trail 679 near Jackson Creek. Teams deployed ATV crews, ground support and UAV units, with the drone’s camera and loudspeaker helping guide the injured rider and their partner. The partner had built a fire to keep the rider warm and called for help. First responders determined the injuries required higher-level care. The rider was transported via an ATV litter system to the landing zone for HCA HealthONE AirLife medevac pickup.
