Italian Grand Prix re-started after Leclerc crashes out

The Italian Formula One Grand Prix was stopped and then restarted after Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crashed heavily at Parabolica at the end of the second lap on Sunday. Ferrari said the Monégasque was OK after being taken to Monza’s medical centre. Leclerc initially got out of the car and sat on the grass behind the barriers. The field regrouped after a 30-minute delay for the tyre wall to be rebuilt, with Mercedes’ George Russell leading. Leclerc started third with Lewis Hamilton alongside, but Hamilton went into 11th after an early clash that stewards noted. The safety car was deployed before red flags came out on lap four, with a restart initially halted due to Yuki Tsunoda being out of place on the grid.
