Jorge Martin claims chaotic Austrian MotoGP sprint victory after Pedro Acosta crashes out
Jorge Martin won a chaotic Austrian MotoGP sprint after Pedro Acosta crashed with three laps remaining. Martin fell from first to eighth on the opening lap in a tight sequence of near-misses with Marc Marquez, but fought back to record his 20th career sprint win. From pole, Martin initially held the lead at Turn 1 but went wide on exit, letting Marquez take momentum uphill toward the chicane. After further changes—Marquez outbraking himself at Turn 4 to hand the lead to Acosta—Martin worked his way back into contention, passing riders including Alex Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi. With Acosta leading by almost three seconds, the KTM rider misjudged braking at the chicane and crashed, restoring Martin to first. Marquez took second ahead of Bezzecchi. Ai Ogura finished fourth after a late move on Alex Marquez, with Bagnaia fifth.
