Jorge Martin has no "strong points": "If we go on like this, it will be difficult"
Jorge Martin’s difficulty translating early-season momentum into podium pace has resurfaced ahead of the German Grand Prix, where he is struggling to secure a “miniature victory drought” ending. After winning the French Grand Prix in May to look set for Aprilia’s 2026 challenge, the MotoGP points leader has not matched that form since. On Friday at the Sachsenring, Martin reached Q2 but was the slowest of Aprilia’s four riders, with the gap tied to a lack of rear grip and front instability at corner entry. He also pointed to Friday setup disadvantages, noting he “never rode here with Aprilia” previously. With Ducati and other brands improving, Martin said he remains too far from victory at Le Mans and is aiming mainly to keep improving to fight for the podium.
