Kia issues new recall for Telluride SUVs | Arkansas Democrat Gazette

Kia issued a new recall for Telluride SUVs, covering nearly 463,000 vehicles, after reports of fires following earlier repairs. The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this week, replaces a prior Kia recall initiated in 2024. It affects Tellurides from the 2020-2024 model years and warns that the front power seat motor may overheat because of a stuck slide knob, creating a risk of fire while parked or driven. Kia says its investigation found “sporadic dealer workmanship issues,” and that the safety office identified 18 incidents between October 2024 and April 2026 involving localized seat fires or melting of the seat motor; no injuries or crashes were reported. The remedy is dealer installation of an electronic fuse assembly free of charge, available in early August, with owner letters set to mail Aug. 13. Kia estimates 1% of affected vehicles have the defect.
