Kia issues new recall for Telluride SUVs, expanding its response to reports of seat-related fires after earlier repairs. Kia America says it is recalling 462,869 Tellurides from the 2020–2024 model years, made between Jan. 9, 2019, and May 29, 2024. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the front power seat motor could overheat because the slide knob or switch may be damaged due to an excessive-force impact on the side cover. Kia reported 18 incidents from October 2024 to April 2026 involving localized seat fires or melting. No injuries or crashes have been reported. Dealers will install an electronic fuse assembly free of charge starting in early August, with owner letters mailed Aug. 13.
