Kia recalling almost 463,000 Tellurides centers on a safety issue involving a potential fire risk while the vehicles are being driven or parked, according to U.S. regulators. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall covers nearly 463,000 Telluride midsize crossover SUVs from the 2020-2024 model years. The agency attributes the problem to a front power seat motor that may overheat if a power seat slide knob is stuck or if there was an improper repair during an earlier recall. NHTSA advises owners to park outdoors and away from structures until the latest recall remedy is completed. Dealers will install an electronic fuse assembly at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 13.
