Law enforcement fatally shoots man after vehicle pursuit in northern Michigan, police say

Troopers conducted a traffic stop on South Otsego Avenue near West Seventh Street in Gaylord, Michigan, around 1:35 a.m. During the encounter, the driver fled. An Otsego County Sheriff’s Office deputy later found the vehicle and began the chase. Police say it ended in Dover Township, where the suspect’s vehicle struck a Michigan State Police patrol car and then hit a tree. Officials say officers shot the man after the collision; he died at the scene. As of Saturday afternoon, no further details had been released.
