xCruzo Brief
Jogesh Bhandari, 60, has been jailed for running a PPE fraud during the Covid-19 pandemic that netted millions of pounds from companies in the US and Germany. Sentenced to eight years at Leicester Crown Court on Friday, Bhandari spent £126,000 on a Porsche and bought an Audi A5, a Land Rover Discovery and jewellery, prosecutors said. The court heard he pretended he could supply millions of nitrile glove boxes between late 2020 and early 2022, using Banton as the vehicle for the scam. His co-accused, Craig Morris, received three years and nine months in October 7. Bhandari’s wife, Meenakashi Bhandari, was given a two-year suspended sentence after being found guilty of concealing criminal property.
