At a Jersey auction on June 3, Simon Drieu & Co sold the J999 plate for £39,500, a number matching one seen on the Fire Engine Jupiter in Fireman Sam, though the buyer said the link was incidental and the choice was driven by a three-digit number with identical numerals. Drieu noted that such plates are purchased for prestige, not branding, and highlighted past Jersey results with higher figures. He cited J83 (£103,000), J13 (£178,000), J69 (£230,000), J4 (£380,000) and J5 (£350,000), among others, illustrating the market’s volatility and demand.
