Marco Bezzecchi doubts he lost Aragon MotoGP sprint at the start
xCruzo Brief
Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi said he’s unsure whether he would have won the Aragon MotoGP sprint if he had kept the lead at the start. After upsetting pre-weekend favorite Marc Marquez in qualifying with a new circuit record, Bezzecchi took pole position for the half-distance race at MotorLand Aragon and nailed the launch to stay in front initially. However, he was outbraked by a Marquez rider into Turn 1, and Alex Marquez then used a tighter line to sweep around at Turn 2. Running a soft rear tire that was faster but less durable, Bezzecchi still couldn’t match the brothers’ pace and finished third. He also cited an injured left knee and admitted his cornering at the start could have been better.
