MotoGP Japanese GP: Full starting grid
Jorge Martin will start the Japanese Grand Prix from pole after breaking the Motegi circuit record in Saturday qualifying. The 2024 MotoGP champion lines up just ahead of Ducati rival Marc Marquez, who won the sprint and has said he will push hard in the remaining rounds. Pedro Acosta, the Austrian GP winner, completes the front row, meaning the top three are held by riders from three different manufacturers. Marco Bezzecchi starts fourth after losing ground in the title fight by choosing medium tyres for the sprint. Alex Marquez is fifth but must serve a double long lap penalty for incidents involving Acosta and Fabio di Giannantonio. Francesco Bagnaia starts 13th after missing Q2, while Michelin restricts teams from using the soft tyre for the race.
