Toyota recalls 82,000 vehicles to fix blank digital instrument screens

Toyota is issuing a safety recall for about 82,000 vehicles across the United States due to digital dashboard screens that can fail to illuminate when the ignition is turned on. The recall covers select 2024 and 2025 Land Cruiser and Mirai models, along with the Lexus GX and UX. A 12.3‑inch display behind the steering wheel can remain dark, preventing mandatory safety indicators from appearing. Driving without visible warnings raises regulatory and safety concerns. Dealership technicians will apply a software patch to the instrument cluster at no cost to customers, with owner notifications planned by late July.
