Nissan recalls select 2025 Sentras in the US over driveshaft fault, power loss, and rollaway risk covers a U.S. recall affecting certain 2025 Nissan Sentra sedans. Nissan says a defect could allow transmission fluid to leak, leading to loss of motive power and, in some cases, the vehicle moving forward or backward even after the transmission is shifted into park. The issue stems from some left-side driveshafts that may have been installed improperly, causing hesitation or jerking. The affected cars were built in Mexico from Sept. 11, 2025, to Sept. 13, 2025, and Nissan traced it to a production tooling error involving supplier GKN Automotive’s Mexican subsidiary. Nissan has connected the condition to 13 warranty claims, three technical reports, and two customer complaints. Dealers will inspect the left-hand driveshaft assembly at no cost, replacing both the driveshaft and CVT assembly if needed, with repairs expected to take over 10 hours. Drivers will be notified by Aug. 5, 2026.
