Obituary: Richard L. Fezekas Sr. - The Lansing Journal

Richard L. “Zeke” Fezekas Sr., 86, of Dyer, Indiana, and formerly of Calumet City, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Judith M. Fezekas, née Cochran, and the loving father of Tina (Daryl Zuffa) Groves and Rick (Denise) Fezekas Jr. He is survived by grandchildren Brady Fezekas and Ryan Fezekas, and by the family’s late Lucas Groves. Fezekas also was a devoted brother to John A. (Kathy) Fezekas and is remembered by several nieces and nephews. After 30 years, he retired from Acme Steel. Visitation is Monday, September 14, 2026, 3:00–8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, September 15, 10:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home in Dyer.
