xCruzo Brief
Honda has confirmed that Jake Dixon will return to MotoGP this weekend in Qatar as Joan Mir’s replacement at the factory HRC team. The English rider, who currently competes in Honda’s WorldSBK program, is making the step back to premier class five years after his Yamaha debut. Dixon previously earned two MotoGP starts with Petronas Yamaha SRT in 2021. At Lusail, he will ride the factory RC213V alongside Luca Marini. Honda has used several substitute riders this season, including Cal Crutchlow, Takaaki Nakagami, Aleix Espargaró and Somkiat Chantra. Dixon said he was grateful for the opportunity and planned to take the weekend “step by step,” while wishing Mir a full recovery.
