Panicked 911 Calls Played in Biker Road Rage Case

Panicked 911 calls were played in court as testimony continued in a case involving an SUV driver who prosecutors say was beaten by a group of angry motorcyclists after running over a biker on a Manhattan highway. During Thursday’s proceedings, prosecutors for undercover detective Wojciech Braszczok and co-defendant Robert Sims played calls from witnesses who reported dangerous driving on the Henry Hudson Parkway in September 2013, including claims of running red lights, speeding, and wheelies. The driver, Alexian Lien, testified he and his family were traveling to New Jersey for shopping when they encountered hundreds of bikers. Prosecutors showed cellphone video of the assault. Lien required at least 20 stitches and has permanent facial scars.
