Pedro Acosta fastest in red-flagged Austria MotoGP Practice
Pedro Acosta set the pace in final practice for the Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix, a session that was red-flagged after a crash involving Alex Marquez. Marquez, riding for Gresini Ducati, fell on the straight between Turns 1 and 2 with about 13 minutes remaining at the Red Bull Ring, and the session was halted 11 minutes and 42 seconds to allow marshals to clear the bike. Marquez was unhurt and rejoined when action resumed, but Acosta took the chequered flag to lead the standings. The KTM rider clocked 1m28.508s, edging Fermin Aldeguer by 0.127s. Marc Marquez finished fourth, while Brad Binder placed seventh; no Honda rider advanced directly into Q2, with Luca Marini fastest in 11th and Johann Zarco 12th after a Turn 4 crash. Pecco Bagnaia’s Q1 streak extended to five straight appearances.
