People, including children, hurt in crash on 5 freeway in Sun Valley

A crash on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley left 12 people hurt overnight, including seven children, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol. The incident was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. near Sheldon Avenue, when a vehicle overturned. Authorities said all 12 patients were in the same vehicle. One person suffered serious injuries, while the other 11 were reported to be in fair condition. The cause of the crash has not been clarified.
