Renault EV Demand Grew 50% in Some Markets from Iran War

Renault says EV demand in France and Germany rose 50% since the Iran conflict began, with supplier capacity often stretched. CEO François Provost told Reuters that Europe’s fully electric car sales rose 29% in the first four months of the year to nearly 1 million units. Renault is considering additional production shifts in the second half at Douai and Maubeuge in France and Novo Mesto in Slovenia, and it has rejected offers to lease factory space to Chinese EV makers. Provost noted the demand surge may ease when fuel prices normalize, but the shift toward electric vehicles is expected to continue.
