Richard Hammond convicted of speeding in Bentley and Porsche

Richard Hammond, the former Top Gear host, has been fined £999 after being caught speeding twice within three weeks in two luxury cars. The 56-year-old pleaded guilty through his lawyers to both speeding charges and was convicted via the Single Justice Procedure at Telford Magistrates’ Court. He received seven penalty points. The court ordered him to pay £1,771 in total, made up of two fines (£333 and £666), £240 in costs, and victim surcharges totalling £532. Hammond was first clocked on December 2 in his Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo at 68mph in a 50mph zone on the A40 near Pencraig, Herefordshire. Twenty days later, his Bentley Continental GT recorded 82mph in a 70mph zone on the A50 Rudhall Overbridge.
