Rivian Is Turning Its EVs Into Ghostbusters Cars For Halloween

Rivian is teaming up with Ghostbusters to turn select EVs into Halloween “ghost-hunting” machines through a free over-the-air update. The software rollout is available October 9 and will run until November 2 for the R1S SUV, R1T pickup, and R2 SUV, letting owners join without purchasing a special edition. The update adds a dedicated Ghostbusters app for themed lights, sounds, and displays, including hidden characters and a “big red switch” that triggers the experience. It also introduces “Trick or Treat Mode,” activating exterior lights and Ghostbusters sounds for visitors. For entertainment while parked or charging, Rivian adds a touchscreen game called “Mallow Mash,” featuring Stay Puft-inspired mini marshmallow men.
