Rivian Q2 Deliveries Top Guidance by 16% as R2 Ramp Clears Manufacturing Test

Rivian reported 12,194 vehicles delivered in Q2 2026, a 16% beat versus Wall Street’s roughly 10,500-unit consensus and above the company’s 9,000–11,000 unit guidance range. The quarter represents Rivian’s strongest delivery outperformance in two years, and the stock jumped as much as 10% early after the release. Rivian also lifted its full-year 2026 guidance to 65,000–70,000 vehicles, up from 62,000–67,000. The deliveries coincided with the first customer vehicles based on the all-new Midsize Platform (MSP), with R2 electric SUV deliveries starting June 9, 2026 from Rivian’s Service and Demo Centers. The only configuration offered at launch was the Performance with Launch Package at $57,990 before a $1,495 destination charge, while a Premium trim at $55,485 and a Standard rear-wheel-drive at roughly $49,985 were slated for later. Rivian said the R2 is built using an MSP designed to cut build costs 45% versus the R1, competing against the Tesla Model Y and other compact electric SUVs. Key context includes Rivian’s reliance on Amazon commercial vans, which accounted for 52% of $908 million automotive revenue in Q1 2026.
