Saudi Aramco tells staff to evacuate Dhahran as clashes with Yemen's Houthis continue
Saudi Aramco has ordered staff to evacuate its headquarters in Dhahran and switch to remote work as fighting between Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis and a Saudi-led coalition intensifies, according to Reuters sources. The move comes amid a wave of Houthi attacks targeting the kingdom, including assaults on Aramco and Saudi airports. Clashes have raged since the Houthis pushed toward Bab el-Mandeb near the Red Sea’s mouth. Aramco did not immediately comment, and the reason for the first evacuation since the Iran conflict began was unclear. Saudi shares fell 2.5% after the news. Oil prices rose to their highest since May amid supply concerns. Houthi claims included attacks on Aramco facilities in Yanbu and drones intercepted over Riyadh and Medina.
