SmartKargo expands mobile-first cargo management in India by powering Akasa Air Cargo’s new mobile app, bringing cloud-native booking and tracking to on-the-go shippers and agents. The SmartKargo platform underpins an interface that combines flight search, shipment booking, real-time tracking, milestone updates, arrival information and account management. SmartKargo says the Android app is available for registered cargo agents and approved shippers across Akasa Air’s growing domestic network, enabling access “anytime, anywhere.” The launch supports SmartKargo’s goal of helping airlines modernize cargo through scalable cloud technology. SmartKargo’s Oliver Houri called mobile distribution a commercial imperative, while Akasa Air co-founder Anand Srinivasan said the app improves booking convenience and transparency. Akasa Air has carried more than 182,000 tonnes of cargo in under four years.
