Sources: F1 plans Middle East finale amid doubts
xCruzo Brief
Formula 1 still plans to end its season with two Middle East races, with Qatar and Abu Dhabi remaining the “normal” leg, ESPN sources say. F1’s calendar currently runs Las Vegas (Nov. 22), Qatar (Nov. 29) and Abu Dhabi (Dec. 6) after a triple header. But the status of the final events has been uncertain since April’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was cancelled and Bahrain was moved to Malaysia amid ongoing regional hostilities. Teams were told an official decision would be made by mid-October. As of Oct. 15, F1 was in regular contact with authorities in both host countries, though the governing body has not firmly set the end date in stone.
